On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

Many houses in Nassau County have been abandoned and are in
foreclosure.

The Town is supposed to monitor these but only if someone complains and then the inspector does little to correct the lack of maintenance on the property.

A task force should be formed to make sure the properties are maintained so that they dont look like an eyesore.

This could consist of actual workers and the owners should be charged where their services fail.

They are absentee landlords and derelict in knowing the condition of the property and the people they hire dp a very bad job keeping the property reasonably maintained and not abandoned looking.

No one wants to live next to these buildings yet they do and the government does very little to help.
