On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. It would stimulate the local economy using existing infrastructure.

Comments

You bet it would!

Yes to existing infrastructure!
New Airport, a third rail with full electrification and a bridge/tunnel from 135 across the Sound would make us the envy of many. It's about time we connect the dots......
As long as we are willing to preserve our Long Island Spaces we could and should make it more efficient?

I am not advocating unjustified expansion of population merely a robust economy of scale with the best way to deliver goods and services for all.
