On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

Nassau Public Schools busing students out of district should coordinate busing with other local school districts

NYS Law requires public school districts pay for busing students out of district within a 15 mile radius of their home school. Schools who own their buses should pick up other students from other districts along the way and split costs 50/50. This would generate revenue and save money for Nassau County Public Schools. AMH
