On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

I do not give the single slightest of a damn about how you guys do it, but by God do not lose the only thing that's actually worth anything in this county. Warning's in place, you lose the Islanders and Nassau County goes down the drain. This will either cost you all your jobs, or allow you all to keep them. Stop with the freaking political football and get this damn thing done!

Islanders
God help us if Nassau County depends on the NY Islanders for its survival!

I'll never set foot in your county or spend a single penny in Nassau or ANY of its businesses again if the Isles are allowed to leave. A lot of people come from outside of Nassau to shop, and believe it or not, the Isles and the NVMC are a big draw. Your economy is already faltering - failing to keep the Isles here with a viable plan will be a significant blow and I for one will be happy to spend my money ELSEWHERE if the team leaves.
Agree - How stupid can they
