On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

Nassau County does not have a coehisive form of government. What we have is an olde English style of Thiefdome. The Sanitation districts answer to no one and are run by "families", the schools are run by Superintendants who rule with iron fists and threats, and you have Towns and Villages who are run by dictators who could care less about the County as a whole. What does the County Executive do? Who is he in charge of besides the Police Department. Certainly not LIPA or any of the the Thiefdomes. NASSAU COUNTY IS A JOKE!!!!
We need to restructure the government as a whole and consolidate power. Get ride of the all the independant thiefdomes and our taxes will go down while our services will go up. Even NYC's government is not as bad as ours. At least the Mayor is in charge not the Burough Presidents.
