On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

I see the police patrol our schools for the first week of school in the early am and when school gets out than you never see them the whole year. Why is this not done all year?? I would like to see more enforcement of the school speed zone during this time as there are kids all over the place. North Jersulam Road between Gardners and Wantagh ave is a speed trap. Lots of kids walk home, close to the road and cars fly by. We need safety for our children that Nassau County is not providing. Lets have some speed enforcement here please, even if its one hour a week.
