On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

This is the second year in a row there is the possibility of a Triple Crown winner at the Belmont Stakes. Since the Islanders have left this will be the biggest sporting event on Long Island for the foreseeable future. There should be several days of festivities leading up to the race such as: concerts, a big-time golf tournament, street fairs in every community, local beer, wine and food tastings, school marching band competitions, 5k races, a magnificent parade etc... People fly in from all over the world for the Kentucky Derby. They should for the Belmont Stakes too! AMH

Revenue Generating Sledding Slope. The design will include the following: rentals, concessions, locker rentals, handicap access with elevators. Ice/Snowmaking equipment when the season is dry. This design can be developed at all Nassau County Parks. Let's make Long Island the Winter Recreational Region. This facility can be opened 6-8 months to generate revenue encouraging exercise for all ages and disabilities.

I recently went to a kids bday party at the Beach Shack in Copaigue, it was such a great concept. A private company running a surf and sun themed concession at a nice small beach park, they ahd a bar, servers, lie band etc. There were maybe 150-200 people mainly families and baby-boomers hanging out eating drinking and dancing. The park had a sprinkler/water park area and playground for the kids too. Everyone in attendance agreed we need these in Nassau as well. Bar Bach would be a fantastic spot for a similar thing.

Wright Field is a little league field that is getting its second million dollar renovation in five years. Last year they got a $25,000 score board. Town of Hempstead Parks departmetn has three full time grounds keeper maintaining the field year round. This is for 10 to 12 year olds. BNo wonder our taxes are so high. Stop the unnecessary renovations.

My suggestion is as a volunteer for more than 12 years.
I believe Mr. Foskey erred by directing the use of a golf cart be stopped for the transportation of some of the older, dedicated . knowlegable, but less agile volunteers to and from the center and assigned houses in the Old Bethpage Restoration Village. Those volunteers who have trouble walking simply cannot manage to walk the distance on the stony, uneven roads.
