On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law goes into effect that charges a five-cent fee on disposable plastic and paper bags at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment from degradation. Those against are concerned it will hurt local businesses because the five-cent fee is nothing more than a tax. Do you support a Nassau County law imposing a five-cent fee on disposable plastic and paper bags?

You buy a ticket to see a show and when you get there they want to charge you $4O.OO to park. They don't tell you that on your ticket, and there is no place else to park. You are being RIPPED OFF.

Lets knock down the old building, build a new sports arena to keep the Islanders and lets bring in or create a professional soccer team/indoor tennis tournament and arena football, try to bring the Jets back. In surrounding area lets build a convention center for farmers markets and vendors with outdoor seating creating a family atmosphere during the spring and summer months and a place for local workers to enjoy their lunch outdoors.

Look we don't have to redevelop Belmont. The transport system won't bear the extra traffic. The Coliseum area can. But we fouled that up before. The problem in this county is we can't get anything done. Every one wants theirs. Sounds like the whole country though. I suggest giving this Idea to Sydney Aus. I know they can get it together.

With the exit for the New York Islanders, Nassau county should really consider a lucrative project to do with the land. Being that you have a hotel in the area already, a casino comes to mind. It is by a major highway, easily accessible and would generate jobs and revenue for the entire surrounding area. If not a casino, sell the building to a sporting outlet like the W.W.E. I am sure both Donald Trump (for Casino) and Vince McMahon (W.W.E) would be interested for the potential of expanding their empires.

It would be the first hockey arena of its kind. The community would support a novel idea that keeps the Islanders here and all can watch hockey as it was meant to played... outdoors! College hoops and concerts under the stars would be a regular occurrence and it may reverse the trend of our youth leaving town because there would be an exciting local venue for entertainment... See the link below for some creative ideas as to what a roof over the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center would look like. This should be a spark for novel ideas for the coliseum.
