On January 1, 2018, a new Suffolk County law will go into effect, charging a five-cent fee for plastic and paper carryout bags, at a variety of retail stores. Those in support of the fee believe it will protect the environment. Those against view it as a tax that will hurt local businesses. Would you support Nassau County imposing a five-cent fee on plastic and paper carryout bags?

This lifelong Democrat will be voting Lally. The Democrat results are just pitiful over the last 20 years. Long Island is in a tailspin as far our economy and job base.

Everything can't be blamed on Bush or wars or whatever. We need to stop vilifying industry, corporations and businesses as unfortunately the rich do the hiring and not the poor. Its true: you can't tax yourself to prosperity.

As far as social issues, who cares if your daughter has free birthcontrol. If she's still living in your home at age 32 because there are no good jobs, she's not getting much sex anyway.
